Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Benefits

Oxygen. Pressure. Intentional recovery. Now at Hiatus Wellness

Hiatus Wellness HBOT Chamber

Most people don’t struggle because they aren’t trying hard enough.

They struggle because their system is overloaded.

Training stress. Work stress. Poor sleep. Inflammation. Lingering injuries. Brain fog that won’t shift.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) gives your body something it rarely gets in modern life — a controlled environment to repair.

At Hiatus, our hard-shell chamber operates up to 2.0 ATA, with protocols as low as 1.3 ATA, allowing us to tailor sessions based on recovery goals, health history and training load.

What Actually Happens Inside the Chamber?

Under pressure, oxygen dissolves directly into your blood plasma — not just your red blood cells.

At this significantly increases oxygen availability to tissue. That matters because oxygen drives:

  • Cellular repair

  • Mitochondrial function (energy production)

  • Collagen synthesis

  • New blood vessel formation

  • Inflammatory regulation

In simple terms: we improve the environment your body uses to heal.

Why Clients Use Hyperbaric

Recovery Between Heavy Training Blocks

Athletes use HBOT to support tissue repair and manage systemic inflammation when load is high. It’s increasingly used in professional sport for this reason.

Injury or Post-Surgical Support

Research continues to show improved tissue oxygenation can support wound healing and recovery timelines when used appropriately.

Brain Fog & Cognitive Performance

Emerging studies have demonstrated improvements in cerebral blood flow and neuroplasticity in certain populations. Clients often report clearer thinking and improved focus after a block of sessions.

High Performers Managing Chronic Stress

Hyperbaric isn’t a stimulant. It’s not aggressive. It’s a structured recovery input that supports nervous system regulation and cellular restoration.

What It Feels Like

At 1.3 ATA, it’s gentler — similar to ascending in an aircraft.

At 2.0 ATA, pressure feels similar to descending underwater.

You’ll equalise your ears on the way up. Once at pressure, you recline and relax.

No noise. No intensity. Just time and oxygen.

Strategic Stacking Protocols

We rarely use therapies in isolation. The impact of HBOT compounds when layered properly.

Protocol 1: Infrared Sauna + Hyperbaric

Ideal for systemic inflammation, chronic stress, recovery blocks.

Step 1: 20–30 minutes Infrared Sauna→ Increases circulation→ Promotes vasodilation→ Prepares tissue

Step 2: 60 minutes Hyperbaric → Drives oxygen into highly perfused tissue→ Supports repair processes

Heat opens the system. Pressure delivers the oxygen.

Protocol 2: Contrast Therapy + Hyperbaric

Ideal for athletes and high training loads

Step 1: 3–4 rounds hot/cold contrast (2-3 mins per bath)→ Vascular pumping→ Inflammatory regulation→ Nervous system shift

Step 2: 60 minutes Hyperbaric

Contrast stimulates circulation. Hyperbaric enhances tissue oxygenation during recovery.

This is a common protocol during intense training phases.

Why Our Hard-Shell Chamber Matters

Many “mild” of "soft shell'

systems are limited to lower pressures and air-only environments.

Our hard-shell system:

  • Operates up to 2.0 ATA

  • Allows protocol flexibility with 1.3 ATA, 1.5 ATA and 1.8ATA.

  • Provides a stable, controlled therapeutic environment

  • Increased Oxygen flow rate compared to "soft shell" chambers

  • Is delivered with structured screening and supervision

This allows us to tailor sessions — not just offer a one-size-fits-all experience.

Is It For You?

Hyperbaric therapy isn’t about doing more.

It’s about recovering better.

If you’re:

  • Managing persistent fatigue

  • Training hard and struggling to bounce back

  • Navigating injury recovery

  • Or simply wanting to optimise long-term health

HBOT can be integrated into your broader recovery strategy.

As always at Hiatus, we start with a conversation — not a sales pitch.
